About this job

Are you a ‘nearly Associate’? This could be an ‘Associate right now’, if it wasn’t for a promotion from within policy. 6 - 12 months is all you’d need to serve though.  That policy means there isn’t too much competition for the next step up either.  That’s not the only reason you should work here. How many places have you never visited?  You’d need more time off to visit them all.  Whether that looks like an all inclusive with the kids or a solo trip down route 66; what would you do with 6 weeks holiday instead of the 4, maximum 5, you’re getting now?  What could the possibilities be if that turned into 6.5 weeks in 2 years time, 7 weeks off in 3 years and more beyond? You want that time for the right reasons obviously. If you’re trading your current job for extra holidays because you’ll be getting extra stress then you might as well start using a travel agency that sends you postcards for staying home. So you’d need the pressure and the usual crazy demands to be kept under control.  You’d need a ‘9-5’ practice. With some flexibility to when you start and finish the day. You’d have to be paid quite well of course. And you’d probably want the option to work a couple of days a week from home.  And that promotion is still there, without some crazy added pressure or extra demands or more hoops to jump through.  Like anywhere, the clients, very occasionally, can be prima donna’s. It’s retail architecture. But the team will rally round to help with a no blame, no fault and no politics attitude. It’s the kind of workplace where it’s OK to need help, and no need to know absolutely everything.  What you’ll be doing You’ll get out and about a lot, visit lots of sites. With the crazy holidays and WFH you’ll probably hardly be in the office.  There’s a lot of Retail Space planning for lot’s of big blue chips mostly. It’s secure work.  There are sometimes some very different and interesting boutique type projects too.  You’ll take on an account management type relationship with some of those clients, especially in relation to the client side advisors.  Most of the time you’ll be the lead consultant.  What you’ll need AutoCAD experience. To be an Architectural or Interiors professional.  Ideally plenty of retail experience already.  Don’t have a CV? Don’t worry. Send your old one or send Matt Kirk your LinkedIn profile.
