About this job
What does Sustainability and Social value mean to the practice you work for? Just a box tick? Or is it absolutely everything?
If it’s not absolutely everything then I’d bet good money that you’re not in the sort of place you get listened to and you either can’t say ‘I disagree’ or if you do say it, you’re ignored.
If you worked in this job though, you’d notice that the very opposite of that attitude might mean:
- 50/50 work from home
- 32.5 days of holiday, (and you can even buy 5 more days immediately)
- a 4.5 day working week.
- A significant four figure annual bonus.
As well as lots of ‘nice to haves’ like private GPs, paid for dental and opticians, enhanced maternity and paternity leave or a better pension scheme.
You’d be very focussed on social value in the work you’d do on every project. It’d be an interesting mix of very different Civic, Education and Healthcare projects. They win awards because they’re at the forefront of sustainability and innovation.
So you couldn’t ever really get bored or say you lacked variety or weren’t learning something new every single day. You also couldn’t say your work wasn’t making a difference.
There’s loads of time set aside for CPD, training and your personal development. Most Senior Management joined at your level, and it’s a company that’s owned by all employees, it really works.
So when it comes to being committed to turning you into a Senior Technologist with a vast range of experiences on every different architectural product, from living walls to carbon neutral cladding or every other facet of sustainability and carbon reduction, then they’ve got your back.
That’s because it’s part of their whole identity. You’ll be promoted faster, your reviews and pay rises will be like clockwork and you’ll learn from the very best. It’s why almost nobody ever leaves.
