About this job
The Building Safety act has created a lot more risk in the Built Environment. With it though has come a once impossible dream for some Architects. As you know a Principal Designer has got to be appointed to every project during the design of a building. Would you personally rather do it for an Architectural practice? Or a major international consultancy? Thereâs a clear disparity there between the two. If you worked for the Consultancy, youâd get all of the extra benefits, and there are more of those than you think, even beyond the inflated salary, large bonus, car allowances, extra annual leave, crazy flexible hours and big pensions youâd get. Those are usual benefits in this world, that you donât currently expect in Architecture. Theyâd be suddenly available to you.  Youâd be a part of a well resourced and financed team, with up to date technology and processes. No wonder morale here is always high. Even though the team works 4 days from home. Theyâve been working from home since before lockdowns were a thing and it works brilliantly for them.  Imagine if you worked at a place where doing an MBA, or PM course or anything that might make you smarter or better is encouraged and unlimited. Progression is easy in an environment like this. Itâs like clockwork. If you were a Senior Consultant here youâd earn what Associate Directors or even Directors do in practices, Associates here earn more than 90% of Architectural Directors, London included. . No more doing overtime, no more worrying about your job security, no more wondering if you can transfer to a different discipline or if youâll get out of Architecture one day. Youâd have respect from all other disciplines because youâd be working for the client directly and for an organisation that is synonymous with the words âConstructionâ or âEngineeringâ in the UK. Itâs the smoothest, easiest and most rewarding way to work for clients that is directly available to any Architectural professional. What youâll be doing- Acting as principal designer in all capacities at the Design stages of multiple projects.
- Developing systems and processes to improve the function internally and externally.
- Helping clients understand their responsibilities and being part of the lead consulting team.
- Auditing and managing risk.
- Already an experienced Architectural or CDM professional.
- Qualified in Health & Safety OR on the RIBA BSA Register (either).
- Be used to presenting well in a client facing capacity.
