About this job
As you will learn , this is a very selfish Architectural Practice.
You'll get a lot of flexibility there, loads of WFH, pretty good salary and lots of extra little
benefits. But it's just a smoke screen.
The reality is, that you wouldn’t be as happy working there if they didn’t offer you any 5
days out of 10 working from home (and you can lump them all together), and a brilliant
flexitime system that allows you to work 6 hour days at will.
Which is good for you. But don’t worry, there’s no trade off.
You’ll find that they’re refreshingly good at getting Technical people up the ladder.
Working really closely with a top Senior, you’ll be mentored and looked after. Salary
wise, Senior can be a very big step up. Responsibility too. You’ll be running projects that
some companies just reserve for their favourite Architect.
They’ve even got the nerve to constantly promote a top end CPD programme to
everyone, support for all professional charterships. That helps with your knowledge,
experience and progression too.
And who in this world wants to work overtime constantly? Nobody does in this selfish
business. (Wait for it, honestly they are).
The work that is produced is also higher quality. And they’ve done some really notable
projects. Meaning happier clients, more pride from the employees, and probably more
money for the business.
What a bunch of awfully selfish people they are. Handing out incentives and extra
benefits like sweets, just to make the company more successful.
The absolute monsters are B Corp certified too, and it’s really obvious that they care
about sustainability and the environment as well.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work closely with Technical staff and designers on all RIBA Stages. But you’ll
specialise in Stages 4 - 5. The more technical stuff.
You can still have a hand in the earlier stages where you’ll help translate concept into
detailed drawings.
Spend work time in CPD and learning the job, gaining knowledge and experience.
Take part in and experience site visits and DTMs.
Coordinate and help manage the integration of structural, mechanical, electrical, and
other specialist systems within the architectural design.
What you’ll need
Less than 5 Years experience as a qualified Architectural Technician / Technologist.
Can use Revit.
Experience of working on any large complex building types.
