About this job
It’s 4:30pm and you’ve just arrived home from work. The possibilities for the rest of the afternoon are endless really. Tomorrow you might as well work from home, maybe you’ll have a few drinks tonight and start at 10am. You can still finish at 4pm again if you fancy. Catch up next week on your hours, or maybe do the owed hours one night at home. There’s no overtime where you work. Deadlines are well in hand, and you’re well resourced. So there’s no reason not to indulge in whatever you fancy. Does this seem like an impossible dream? It wouldn’t be if you worked for this practice. Who takes your well being and work life balance extremely seriously. If you didn’t enjoy 50/50 WFH, and flexible hours which means 6 hour days at will then you wouldn’t get to pick your kids up from school, or wouldn’t get some personal time to unwind, to see more nature, to go to the gym, whatever it is. They’ve got you covered with a top end CPD program, support for all charterships and professional development program's aimed at getting you promoted up the ladder ASAP too. For you the next step isn’t really too far away. You’d be the first Senior Technical person into a new London office for a big northern practice, they’ll want you to step up as they grow. Associate is a serious, but for you, very attainable title in this practice. You see, the low reward hustle culture you might be used to isn’t familiar to people in this business. They’d have a higher staff turnover if their people weren’t content, and didn’t have opportunities. It makes for better quality staff, with more pride, better quality work, and happier clients too. Which is really good for their bottom line A little bit selfish, sure. But they balance that awful selfishness out by doing other good things. Like being B Corp certified. They really care about sustainability and the environment, which shows in their project work as well as their approach to business. The Job:- Look after a small but growing mixed team.
- Working on High Rise buildings, retrofitting cladding systems.
- You’ll work closely with Associates out of region on running the regional business day to day.
- You’ll be working really closely with a couple of other disciplines, local authorities and government departments. Lots of coordination.
- Learn about a range of interesting building products.
- Experienced Architectural Technician / Technologist.
- Top of your game when it comes to Technical delivery of drawings and packages.
- No need to have any particular sector experience. But experience on complex project types is important.
- You’ll need to know Revit.
- You tend to get along with everyone, communicate easily, smile sometimes (no joke, they asked me for that last one).
