About this job

Here’s why this small practice in Liverpool are proper sound in 142 words. They do as much if not more than most of the bigger local companies on salary and benefits: like 25 days holiday and usually a Christmas bonus MORE than £2000. It’s not loads, but it’s literally the best they can do for their people until they get a bit bigger. Work life balance is there too. The Directors have their own work life balance to strike and they make sure there’s no overtime and that you have whatever flexibility you need. The progression is the biggest benefit of all. It shouldn’t take more than 18 months for you to get equity and become a Director. You don’t need to be winning work to get that, there’s no hidden agenda. They’ll probably be 12 - 15 strong at that point. So it’d be a significant career advance, that you simply won’t get anywhere else. What you’ll be doing:
  • From day one, you’ll be the technical lead. You’ll have decisions to make that affect the business massively. The Directors are Architects, they’ll be deferring to you straight away.
  • This could be anything from deciding which platforms the practice moves forward with to standard setting, to protocols for signing off work etc.
  • You’ll still be doing the hands-on project work that will include drawing work at all stages, site visits, Project Coordination and client facing duties.
  • Helping the business cover more ground by offering support and growing the varied ability levels and skills is crucial and the amount of time you spend helping others to be doers will grow.
What you’ll need
  • Experienced Architectural Technician / Technologist.
  • The job could be a step up from what you’re doing now, or simply something you do but don’t get the recognition for.
  • Any Sectors, but varied as you’ll be working on anything from EV Charging Stations to Care Homes to £20m Commercial projects.
